Half of all small businesses have a website. We don’t have a firm number for what percentage of successful small businesses have websites, but we think it’s safe to say it’s considerably higher than fifty percent. We’re going to take a brief look at why the Average Joe business owner needs to dip a toe or ten into website ownership.
On an early August morning, users of Amazon Web Services (AWS) woke up to some rather startling and frightening news. Error messages indicated that services were down both for the Simple Storage Service (S3) and Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) solutions that Amazon provides. This severe outage lasted well into the afternoon and early evening before Amazon finally notified its customers that the problems had been corrected and services restored. While the outage lasted less than a day, it sparked a new discussion about what caused it and, just as important, how to prevent such outages from occurring in the future. For some, the solution to the problem was clear: decentralized cloud computing.

Which Big Name Do You Choose?
When it comes to content management systems, there are three very popular names. There is WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla. Each of course has their own pros and cons, but which one is best? If you ask a hundred different people, you will answers from all across the board.
When you live your life on the go, you need to be able to access your files when you want, where you want. The ability to access your files while on the move could mean the difference between getting your work done on the train home or spending another late night. Cloud storage also helps you have all your materials when you are making deals, negotiating contracts, or just busying yourself while waiting on your flight, but not all cloud storage options are created equal.
The cloud is where you need to be. At least that’s what companies are being told these days. The hype surrounding cloud computing is difficult to ignore, and organizations are responding by moving to the cloud in droves. This surge in cloud adoption makes the whole movement seem more like a fad at times, but it’s important to note that cloud computing does bring some significant benefits to the table. In other words, there’s a reason businesses are jumping on the bandwagon. At the same time, all this transitioning to the cloud can lead to mistakes, especially when companies aren’t prepared for the challenges and pitfalls they may encounter.

You do not need to have any technical knowledge to use CMS for your site. Without any technical knowhow, you can manage the front end by adding images, integrating social media, publishing posts and adding links. You can also manage what goes on in the backend of your site.
CMS also gives you the option to build your site in a way that improves search engine ranking. If you don’t want your site to rank, you also have the choice of making this omission.

At the beginning of 21st century, the open-source CMS started to enjoy widespread popularity, which in turn helped open web content creation to a larger group. Within this group of content creators, a variety of skillsets and end goals existed, which meant different CMSs ended up targeting and occupying different niches of the market. Drupal became a solution for websites that needed a more complex structure, so they developed their core features to satisfy the needs of complex content organisation and user roles. On the other hand, Wordpress targeted users looking to create simpler websites that could be easily developed. In addition to these main forces in the CMS market, a lot of proprietary solutions spawned.
It’s likely clear to most companies by now that any realistic view of the future of the business world involves cloud computing in some way. It’s difficult to ignore the variety of benefits that come from adopting the cloud, including more productivity from employees, more business agility, and, of course, significant cost savings. Even with these advantages in mind, many companies still feel a reluctance to make the cloud part of their operations. A move to the cloud is certainly a significant change, one which should not be considered lightly.
