Mailbag: The Open Source Alliance of Canada

Our good friend Cheryl McKinnon, founder of Candy Strategies, tweeted us about the latest news from the Open Source Alliance of Canada (OSACAN). The alliance is a non-profit organization, founded to promote, foster and sustain the use of open source technology in Canadian government. In my opinion, the debate over licensing and software development processes is only mildly interesting as it is the quality of the end product that matters to me most. However, there is always room for reasonable civil discussions of any topic when new data and new perspective is given.

Accrisoft is one of the first CMS companies that convinced me that the cloud wasn't as scary as I thought for creating, hosting, and managing content management solutions.

Quoting IT: Tablet OS Choices in the Enterprise

"Is the next device that we deploy going to be an iPad, is it going to be a Windows or an Android-based tablet?" said Merritt.

That's a question that the IT staff at United will answer in time, but the mere fact that it can investigate all three client device operating systems is a major change for corporate IT.
