The Photographer's CMS: WordPress 3.5 plus Photocrati 4.5

A few days ago, WordPress 3.5 was released and I originally planned to write the typical "what is new in WordPress" article similar to what I've done in the past for CMS Report. However, I thought this time around I would also discuss how I'm using WordPress to support the website of one of my favorite photographers, Karen Ruby of Dakota Imagery. Certainly, in this article there is no cause for you to suspect my opinions are biased with regard to her photography skills despite the fact we've been married for 11 years and she is the mother of my child.

Mailbag: Magento Highlights from eBay Inc. Q3 Earnings

In CMS Report's mailbag this week we received an email from one of the press folks representing eBay as well as Magento, an eCommerce platform and shopping cart. As we reported last year, eBay agreed to acquire Magento and since then, eBay has placed Magento under the banner of X.commerce. X.commerce intends to bring together the technology assets and developer communities of eBay, PayPal and Magento to support eBay Inc.'s mission of enabling commerce.

CMS Expo: Introducing the Wondercode CMS

One of the benefits of conferences such as last week's CMS Expo are the opportunities to come across content management systems you know nothing about. Such was the case for me when I was introduced to Wondercode, a content management and e-commerce solution developed by a Norwegian company. My introduction to Wondercode was in a showcase session with Sven-Erik Knoff as the presenter.

Hundreds of corporate and commercial websites run Wondercode, each with their own unique twist and functionality. This panel will go in depth in showing you just how flexible, customizable and powerful Wondercode is

Social Umami and Liferay Portal

I like the concept of Social Umami as it likely would be what you would get if you combined Pinterest, Amazon, and Facebook all into one site.  Social Umami is a product recommendation network for the social consumer (that's you and me). People can share their favorite products with friends, purchase their latest finds, get recommendations or discover and follow other Umami users and their tips.
