Mailbag: Take a look at WebGUI
Tavis sent an email to CMSReport.com asking me to take a look at WebGUI. WebGUI is an open source content management system licensed under the GPL v2.
Hello, I wanted to send a quick note and see what it would take to setup a new CMS Focus category for WebGUI. (www.webgui.org) The community is extremely active and there is definitely plenty of buzz about new releases, the community, and the organizations who decide to adopt it.
WebGUI also powers cmsmatrix.org...
Thanks!
Tavis
Let me first admit the obvious. Up to this point, WebGUI has been offf my personal radar. Taking a look at WebGUI's site, listed features, and community...I may need to correct the oversight.
Within the next couple months, I'll be going through my occasional review of what I consider the top 30 CMS. Perhaps, it will be WebGUI's turn to knock off one of the CMS I currently have listed in my "CMS Focus".

Look forward to reading your
Look forward to reading your upcoming review of WebGUI Bryan. Some of the shiny new features that have come out this year such as Thingy and Gallery make it a pretty awesome platform. Eager to see how you think it stacks up against the rest of the field.

Definitely worth the look
Hi Bryan,
I'll be candid and tell you that we've been using and deploying WebGUI for over 2 years now for ourselves and our clients. I definitely think it's worthy of inclusion and review on your web site. There is a strong, international community, continued support & development from the creators, Plain Black, and a growing community of businesses that use and support it. I think it's a strong Open Source competitor in the Enterprise Content Management space. Looking forward to your review.
